The La Vega Carnival, probably the most famous in the Dominican Republic, will be taking place on Sundays in February. The first parades of the devilish creatures (diablos cojuelos) and merry-makers is set for Sunday, 2 February. Other carnival Sundays are 9, 16, and 23 February. This year, an extra day has been added for Thursday, 27 February, since the day is a holiday, National Independence Day.
In addition to the carnival parades, this year several artistic presentations are included. These are: Yailin, El Blachy, Amenazzy, Bullin 47, Jey One, Yaisel, Mozart La Para and Luis Brown. Also, Chiquito Team Band, El Mayor, Kali 8, Chucky 73, Shadow Blow, La Mas Doll, Liro Shaq, Mark B, Martín Lora, Lomiel, Flow 28 and Shelow Shaq.
