The National Physical Education Institute (Inefi) gave a job to decathlon athlete Jose Miguel Paulino after Diario Libre reported on his economic woes and this went viral on social media.
Paulino is a Central American and Caribbean champion in decathlon, and the local record holder in his discipline. He got his job after Diario Libre published a story on how he made a living driving an Uber car and delivering for Pedidos Ya.
Inefi has now hired him to work providing guidance to students in public schools, said Alberto Rodriguez of Inefi.
