Hilton, in partnership with Santiago Center, officially opened the Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel on Sunday, 16 March 2025. The event was attended by President Luis Abinader, Vice President Raquel Peña, and Minister of Tourism David Collado.
“We are very pleased to celebrate the first milestone of Santiago Center: the inauguration of the Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton. This is a tangible testament to our commitment and our desire to contribute to the transformation that this wonderful city is experiencing,” said José Miguel González Cuadra, director of Santiago Center.
The 177-room hotel is centrally located on Av. Juan Pablo Duarte corner Av. Estrella Sadhala in Santiago city.
The hotel is adjacent to the largest and newest mall in Santiago, the soon to open Santiago Agora Mall. The hotel also features the Arturo Fuentes cigar lounge.
The hotel expects to attract the meetings market. “The MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) is one of the clearest and most viable alternatives for the economic growth of the northern region, and Santiago is emerging as the ideal operations center for this type of tourism, along with health tourism,” said Gonzalez Cuadra.
Pablo Maturana, vice president of Development for the Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton, stated that the Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton, “signals our commitment to being leaders in the Dominican Republic and its most important destinations, with the emblematic hospitality and legendary service that characterizes Hilton.”
He added, “We are proud to add Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton, to Hilton’s growing portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America.”
The event also included the inauguration of state-of-the-art event rooms, designed to meet high standards of functionality.
