TV host Mariasela Alvarez appealed to Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso to reconsider the removal of Cristo Rey prosecutor Gerinaldo Contreras. His constituency, including community activists, from the president of the Public Schools Teachers Association, to the legendary Dr. Felix Antonio Cruz Jiminian of the Clinica Cruz Jiminian, and the members of the board of the Isabel Villas residential community showed up to defend Contreras.
Community activists also showed up for the talk show to defend their prosecutor, saying Cristo Rey wants him back.
Alvarez also urged the attention of Minister of Interior and Police Faride Raful in the case of Isabel Villas that disputes interests that seek to irregularly use green area for real estate developments.
With an around 20-year career behind him, Contreras says he will be appealing through regular channels, but accepted to take his case to Mariasela Alvarez as he felt he had been damaged by a press release that included fake information and was published in leading media.
