Jazz lovers: Luciana Souza from Brazil at the National Theater

The NYO Jazz Orchestra from Carnegie Hall has included performances in Santo Domingo and Santiago in its first-ever Latin American tour.

Led by artistic director and trumpeter Sean Jones, and featuring Grammy-winning Brazilian vocalist Luciana Souza, this youth jazz ensemble will showcase the rich heritage and future of American jazz, ranging from big-band swing to contemporary innovation.

Their performances in the Dominican Republic are scheduled for:
• Tuesday, 5 August 2025, at 8:30pm at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in Santo Domingo.
• Wednesday, 6 August 2025, at 8pm at the Centro León in Santiago.

The program is expected to include works by renowned composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Count Basie, Dafnis Prieto, and Iván Lins. These concerts are produced by the Sinfonía Foundation.
