Dominican baseball fan sets Guinness World Record for MLB stadium visits

A lifelong dream and a whirlwind tour across the United States have earned Dominican baseball fanatic Jepssy Beltré a place in the Guinness World Records, Listin Diario reports. A working dentist, he took off a month to visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums in just 25 days, shattering the previous record of 29 stadiums.

Beltré, who initially aimed to complete his journey in 26 days, pushed through a punishing schedule fueled by passion, discipline, and meticulous planning. His final stop was Boston’s iconic Fenway Park, where the bitter rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox was on full display.

“It was, without a doubt, the most pleasant visit of all,” Beltré told the Listín Diario. “Boston is a top-tier organization, and the best part was that I could finish the trip and achieve the record there with my family.”

In a special moment arranged by baseball legend David Ortiz, Beltré threw out the first pitch and received a first-class welcome from the team.

Beltré said what started out as a self-funded solo mission, along the way found financial supporters. Many teams, fans, and friends pitched in to help with airline and baseball game tickets. The feat was not just a personal victory but a shared experience.

Beltre explained that when visiting the Mets and Dodgers stadiums, he was welcomed into the Spanish-language broadcast booths, where he shared stories and anecdotes with the announcers. He said his most special moment was when visiting Fenway Stadium in Boston, where he was able to throw the symbolic first pitch in the game against the New York Yankees, thanks to a contact with David Ortiz. On that last trip, he was traveling with his family.

“It was a beautiful experience to see how Major League teams make you feel special,” he said. “As my journey became more well-known, the people and fans gave me more and more affection at the stadiums I visited.”

While most stops were memorable, not every experience was a grand slam. Beltré described his visit to the Angels’ stadium in Anaheim as “empty,” noting the lack of energy in the stands and limited food options. Still, he checked it off his list and moved on.

Beltré explained the biggest challenges he confronted: navigating the airports. Several flight delays and a missed flight—when the gate closed just minutes before his arrival—nearly derailed the entire project. He said that thanks to having a backup plan, he was always able to stay on schedule.

Beltre told Listin Diario that with his Guinness World Record now official and a journey fully documented with photos and videos, he is hoping to sell his story as a project that embodies the spirit of baseball, culture, and perseverance.
