Bloomberg writes about what is happening and what is on the books for tourism development in the Cabo Rojo beach strip in southwestern Pedernales province. The beach strip is an access point to reach the famous Bahia de las Aguilas, a beach that maintains its original state.
Bloomberg highlights the operation of the cruise terminal and recreational areas, and the construction of new hotels by the government to be operated by international chains. Likewise, the Abinader administration has invested heavily in infrastructure, including new roads, the water treatment and an international airport as it seeks to kickstart the new development.
According to the Bloomberg people, President Abinader wants to re-create Punta Cana on the other end of the country with this development plan. Bloomberg notes that things are behind schedule.
