Ministry of Education imposes sanctions for use of public school for controversial video

The Ministry of Education (MINERD) announced Tuesday, 30 September 2025, that an investigation confirmed a music video with vulgar content was filmed inside a public school.

In response, the Ministry announced the suspension of several school staff —coordinators and administrative personnel— for investigative purposes. They are being held responsible for the improper use of school facilities.

The Ministry stated that the filming of the video constitutes a direct violation of the formation and education in values, as well as the integrity and the best interest of children and adolescents.

Consequently, the Ministry of Education says it is filing a formal complaint with the Public Ministry to identify all those responsible and determine the extent of each individual’s criminal liability.

Furthermore, the education authority announced it will ask the National Commission of Public Shows for a total ban on the material’s distribution to prevent its continued circulation and its negative impact on the educational community and society at large.

The institution also announced the formation of a special commission tasked with reviewing the current law and proposing recommendations to toughen the applicable sanctions in similar cases, thereby strengthening the protection of school spaces.
