CNM announces Superior Electoral Court judges

The council responsible for designating judges of the higher courts ratified three Electoral Court members and choses two new judges. The National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) announced on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 in Santo Domingo, following a meeting at the Presidential Palace, the ratification of three judges for the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Ygnacio Camacho Hidalgo was ratified to continue as president, and Pedro Pablo Yermenos and Fernando Fernández Cruz were confirmed as members for another four years.

Additionally, in the same session, the CNM selected Rafaelina Peralta and Lenis García Guzmán as new members for the TSE. This final decision came after evaluating the profiles of the aspirants over four rounds of sessions. Peralta Arias is a past member of the TSE and the Central Electoral Board (JCE). Lenis Garcia Guzman currently is the director of political parties of the Central Electoral Board (JCE).

The breakdown now of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) is:
· Ygnacio Pascual Camacho Hidalgo – Alternate: Lourdes Teresa Salazar
· Pedro Pablo Yermenos Forastieri – Alternate: Juan Cuevas
· Fernando Fernández Cruz – Alternate: Juan Manuel Martín Garrido
· Rafaelina Peralta Arias – Alternate: Freddy Ángel Castro
· Lenis García Guzmán – Alternate: Víctor Rafael Menieur

The announcement was made by Antoliano Peralta, the Legal Consultant to the Executive Branch, and Magistrate Nancy Salcedo, following the meeting led by President Luis Abinader.

The session was also attended by the presidents of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the Senate, and the Chamber of Deputies, in addition to representatives from both legislative chambers.
