Two new Hyatt hotels in Miches Beach

President Luis Abinader was present for the official opening of the side-by-side Dreams and Secrets Playa Esmeralda hotels in Miches, El Seibo province, north of Punta Cana on Tuesday, 9 December 2025. The beach resorts called for a US$390 million investment that significantly bolsters the eastern coast’s tourism infrastructure. The two new resorts are operating under the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, span over 500,000 square meters and feature more than 10 restaurants and 7 bars.

Secrets is a 500-suite, adults-only property that boasts a world-class spa and specialized dining. Dreams is also a 500-suite hotel that complements Secrets and is geared towards families and multi-generational groups. Dreams features family amenities like water parks and kids/teens clubs.

Both are located on the pristine Miches beachfront. The hotels share a central plaza designed as a vibrant meeting point with shared restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment areas.

Miches is the emerging new tourism destination of the Dominican Republic. In recent years, more than 2,000 hotel rooms have opened, catering to all markets.

Gabriel Felip, president of Latam & Caribbean for Hyatt Inclusive Collection, emphasized the significance of the project, which was initiated during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. “This development was born at a time of enormous uncertainty, but a group of people decided to believe in the future of Miches and bet on the potential of this land. Today we celebrate the result of that commitment,” Felip stated.
