The 25th Central American and Caribbean Games organizing committee and the Ministry of Sports announced last week that Baní was chosen as host municipality for the sailing competitions for the regional sports games.
Minister of Sports Kelvin Cruz stated that selecting Baní for sailing reflects both the area’s superior natural conditions and a strategic vision to integrate various provinces into the regional games.
“Baní will play a leading role with the sailing discipline, which will boost sports, tourism, and the local economy throughout the southern region,” Monegro said.
The 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games are scheduled to run from 24 July to 8 August 2026 and will mainly be centered in Santo Domingo.
