The Caribbean Series defending champions, the Escogido Lions of the Dominican Republic, over the weekend disappointed local fans when after failing to defeat the Mexico teams. It was the Green Team of Meixco (Tomateros de Culiacan) and the Red Team of Mexico (Charros de Jalisco), that had defeated the Cangrejeros de Santurce of Puerto Rico, that would make the playoffs.
The Red Team (Charros de Jalisco) won the regional tournament on Saturday, 7 February 2026, with a tightly contested festival of home runs that ended 12 x 11 in extra inning at the Jalisco stadium in Mexico to the delight of Mexican fans.
This was the 10th title for a Mexico team. The DR has won 23 Caribbean Series titles, and Puerto Rico follows with 16.
