Da Republik Junior wins third season of Dominicana’s Got Talent

The stage of Dominicana’s Got Talent was set ablaze as Da Republik Junior emerged victorious in a high-stakes finale that captivated the nation on 18 February 2026. The group won the RD$3 million cash award and national recognition to the effort in favor of Dominican youths.

The group, widely regarded as the artistic heirs to the original Da Republik company that reached the semifinals of America’s Got Talent in 2018, beat out fellow finalists with a display of precision, energy, and urban flair.

The path to victory: The Golden Buzzer
The group’s championship run was foreshadowed early in the season during an emotional audition that left the judges and audience stunned. It was judge Waddys Jáquez who granted the group their direct pass to the semifinals by pressing the prestigious Golden Buzzer. “War is Declared”: Jáquez, known for his notoriously strict standards, was visibly moved by the performance, shouting “War is declared!” as he unleashed the golden confetti.

The win carried significant emotional weight for the team’s directors, Jonathan Castillo and Larybel Olivero. Seventeen years prior, Olivero had been eliminated by Jáquez in a different reality competition while pregnant with her son, Laythan Castillo, who now serves as the captain of Da Republik Junior.

By clinching the title, Da Republik Junior has solidified its place as a powerhouse in the global dance community. Formed by adolescents at the Núcleo Extremo academy, the group has spent years training in urban dance styles under rigorous discipline.
