The Santo Domingo Metro Office has announced a significant expansion of the operating hours for the Line 2C extension of the Santo Domingo Metro. This adjustment is part of the ongoing trial period, aimed at improving mobility for residents of Los Alcarrizos.
The new schedule eliminates previous midday gaps, providing continuous service throughout the day. This is a strategic move to reduce travel times and encourage the use of mass transit along the congested Duarte Highway corridor.
From Monday to Saturday, the schedule is now 6am to 8pm. On Sundays and holidays, Line 2C will operate from 8am to 8pm.
Line 2C spans 7.3 kilometers with five stations. It has 800 meters of an underground run and a 6.5 km along an elevated viaduct that connects with other lines of the city metro.
