President Luis Abinader officially launched the torch relay for the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 during a ceremony at the National Palace on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.

Highlighting the event’s role in social cohesion and youth development, the President expressed his vision for the symbolic flame to inspire future generations across every corner of the Dominican Republic.

The regional sports games return to Santo Domingo 52 years after the city first hosted the regional competition in 1974, a milestone that transformed the nation’s sporting infrastructure.
