A 24-year old National Drug Control Deparment (DNCD) agent, Yomar Elizandro Feliz Terrero, was stabbed 5 times by 4 suspects identified as Junior, Fausto, Pedrito and Lili at Calle Peaton 7, near his home in Vecinos Unidos in Santo Domingo Este, according to DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron. He is said to be in a serious condition. Feliz Terrero lost his sight in one eye as a result of the stabbing. According to reports, the agent was attacked at 9pm on Sunday, shortly after he had returned from Puerto Plata where he works at the international airport. He works for the Center for Joint Information Coordination (CICC).
Relatives say that the so-called Lili and her husband, known as Junior, would frequently ask if Feliz Terrero had arrived, and so they suspect these two.
President of the DNCD, Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo entrusted a superior officer with the investigations into establishing who attacked the agent. They suspect that the attackers are known drug dealers.
Felix Terrero joined the DNCD in September 2008.
Lebron said that three days ago members of the DNCD eastern division carried out an operation involving raids on several drug selling points. It is suspected that the assailants could have been affected.
