The Toros del Este continue to be strong contenders for the final playoff series, as they defeated the Leones del Escogido by a score of 3-1 in the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo. The winning pitcher was Fernando Abad and the losing pitcher was Bartolo Colon who did allowed three runs over six innings. In San Francisco de Macoris, the Gigantes del Cibao have apparently forgotten how to win a baseball game, falling for the fifth game in a row. This time the Estrellas Orientales defeated the Gigantes by a score of 9 to 4. The Estrellas have scored 23 runs against the Gigantes in the round-robin portion of the tournament. Edward Rogers was the big hitter for the Estrellas with a four-hit performance, including a homerun and a double.
