Pilot Miguel Perez is recovering satisfactorily after performing a landing at sea on January 4. 32-year-old Freddy Medina, an airplane mechanic, died from injuries sustained in the emergency crash-landing. The two had taken off from Las Americas and were making their way to the Herrera airport, when the aircraft was forced from the skies into the sea, landing off Km. 9 of the Autopista 30 de Mayo.
