La Romana to host Pan Am equestrian events?

Hoy newspaper?s page-two column hints that the equestrian events for the Pan American Games could be held in La Romana, where fine horseback riding facilities are already in place. The newspaper speculates that if the government invests another RD$15 million in the existing installations, La Romana could be ready in time for the upcoming Games this August. The government has reportedly already paid contracts of RD$20 million for ground leveling at a new center off Km. 15 of the Duarte Highway, however, work there is extremely behind schedule and could not be ready in time. The newspaper points out that the Central Romana/Casa de Campo facility would be happy to receive the donation and host the games.
