Transport rate hikes okayed

The Oficina Tecnica de Transporte Terrestre (OTTT), which governs all transport rates, announced authorized price increases from RD$1 to RD$10 on urban and interurban routes. The measures are in effect as of today.
OTTT director Antonio Reynoso met with union leaders to authorize the new rates and said that fares already costing more than RD$100 would not go up. The scale for the authorized increases is as follows:
5-10 pesos: RD$1 increase
11-20 pesos: RD$2 increase
21-30 pesos: RD$3 increase
31-40 pesos: RD$4 increase
41-50 pesos: RD$5 increase
51-60 pesos: RD$6 increase
61-70 pesos: RD$7 increase
71-80 pesos: RD$8 increase
81-90 pesos: RD$9 increase
91-100 pesos: RD$10 increase
