Arrests made for murder in Sosua

Police spokesman Diego Pesqueria says three Haitian men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder of an Italian-American, Raffaele Foria, aged 67, last Tuesday, 2 October in Sosua.

The men known as Benni Ulises, Aniel Chery and Jonny Puerd are also accused of injuring Stanley Leon and a lieutenant from the Dominican Air Force, Daniel Alvarado Fernandez.

Pesqueira said that the Police recovered several stolen items including a laptop and mobile phones and that they have also arrested a Haitian woman who has been taking food to the arrested men and keeping them informed about the progress of the investigation.

However, he added that two men who are believed to be the main perpetrators of the crime, known as Niquelson and Bentony, are thought to have escaped to Haiti.
