The whereabouts of Soanny Montero, a doctor who works at the Police Hospital on Independencia Avenue in Santo Domingo are unknown after hospital cameras showed that she left her workplace on Monday, 15 October at 3pm in her gray Honda Civic number plate A568168. The 27-year old doctor has gone missing. Her boyfriend, Jonathan Reyes, went public saying that she had told him she would leave the country by sea and for him to say goodbye to her father on her behalf, as she was depressed after learning he had another relationship and had had a child. But as reported in Hoy, two close friends, Nirka Lozano and Nelly Perez, deny that their friend was depressed after finding out about her boyfriend’s parallel relationship. Perez and Lozano and Montero’s father Martires Montero said that she always told them where she was going and would tell family and friends about her problems.
Yesterday, work colleagues, friends and relatives lit candles at the Parque La Lira in Santo Domingo as they awaited news of her whereabouts.
Police Spokesman Diego Pesqueira said that the Police had contacted vehicle workshops and spare parts distributors seeking traces of the car and that personnel at all toll booths have been notified to look out for the vehicle.
