Government begins to pay debts at Refinery

During a television interview on Telematutino 11, the Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa) Administrative Council president, Felix Jimenez, announced that the Dominican State has already made an initial RD$1.6 billion of a RD$2 billion payment to the RD$6 billion debt, as reported in Listin Diario.

He said that the debt was due to the managing of prices and debts for asphalt owed by the Ministry of Public Works and the Office of Supervisory Engineers for State Works.

Another part of the debt would be compensated by profit-sharing now that the Refinery is 49% owned by the government of Venezuela.
