The Weather Department (Onamet) is forecasting rains for Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November in Samana and central mountain areas, caused by a rain system that is headed this way from the north. On northern coasts, small boats are advised to stay in port on Friday 2 November, but conditions should start to improve on Saturday 3 November.
Sunny skies with some showers are forecast for the south of the country.
A cold front will also bring relatively chilly temperatures nationwide, especially in the early morning.
