Constitution Day

Today, Monday 6 November, the Dominican Government via the Permanent Commission of Commemorative Events, together with the Provincial Government of San Cristobal and the local authority there, is holding a series of events to celebrate the 168th anniversary of the Dominican Constitution, which was signed in San Cristobal on 6 November 1844.

The events include ceremonial marches with bands, a Te Deum service at the cathedral and a number of other ceremonies.

President Danilo Medina will not be attending but is being represented by senior members of the military forces.
