Positive talks with Bahamian government

The recent bilateral talks between Bahamian and Dominican Republic government have been described as positive according to the delegation leader and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Frederick A. Mitchell.

He said that the Dominican government was receptive to their concerns about illegal fishing and the Dominican Navy will visit the Bahamas which they are hopeful should result in a decrease in poaching.

The bilateral talks ended officially with meetings with President Danilo Medina at the Presidential Palace, where issues such as mutual friendship in the fight against drug smuggling and poaching and continued diplomatic friendship between the two nations were discussed.
