According to news reports, unnoticed by customers, the manager of the Bravo Supermarket on Avenida Enriquillo in Santo Domingo was robbed at gunpoint yesterday, Monday 12 November as he was about to deposit the takings at a bank branch inside the supermarket. Two men robbed the manager and left taking the Saturday sales valise. They had arrived at 8:41am at the supermarket that opens at 7:30am.
As reported in El Dia, the thieves took advantage of a safety oversight by the security guard to take the valise at gunpoint and walk back out. A total of RD$4 million was stolen, as reported in El Caribe.
