Water problem in Boca Chica

A broken pipe in Boca Chica has left around 30 neighborhoods without water and Fermin Brito, the director of the Boca Chica Aqueducts and Sewers Corporation (CORAABO), has confirmed that brigades are working to reestablish service as soon as possible.

Brito said that the problem was caused after a truck broke the pipe and that all water had to be turned off in order to mend it, which was affecting around 100,000 people in Sinai, Santa Lucia, Villa Panamericana, Los Dominicanos Ausentes, Dominican York, Los Tanquecitos, La Altagracia, Los Botaos, Brisas del Norte and Brisas del Este 1, Bella Vista, Brisa de Caucedo, Monte Adentro, El Higo and others in the municipal district of La Caleta.

The CORAABO director said that he had rented 20 water trucks to deliver water to the affected areas and that supplies should to be restored within the next 72 hours.

He warned that the owners of the truck that damaged the pipe should pay the repair costs or he would take legal action.
