Venezuelan mule arrested in Punta Cana

The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) reported the arrest last night, Thursday 22 November, of a Venezuelan with 243 bags of suspect cocaine taped to his legs and waist at the Punta Cana International Airport. He was planning to take a flight from Punta Cana to Montreal. He was identified as 42-year old Ramon Oswaldo Leal Cabello. He was booked on a Sunwing flight to Canada. The DNCD reported that when Leal Cabello arrived the DNCD agents noticed he was behaving suspiciously and decided to search him prior to his departure. The authorities are now trying to find out who hired him to take the drugs to Montreal. The Venezuelan embassy has been notified. The 243 packets taped to his body were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for testing.
