San Juan’s first President comes home

President Danilo Medina returned to his native San Juan de la Maguana this weekend, 1 and 2 December with one of his surprise visits to out-of-the-way places, and ordered the construction of the Dos Bocas Dam that will irrigate some 4,000 tareas of land near his birthplace. The President also ordered housing, school repairs, public parks and electricity for residents of Jorgillo, Sabana Grande and El Capa. He also focused his attention on lands in Bobo and Canay that were not being well used. In Capa he ordered the digging of a canal that will irrigate 2,000 tareas.
