Doctors at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a leading specialist eye center at the University of Miami based at Jackson Memorial Hospital, have confirmed that the damage to Francina Hungria’s left eye is so serious that she is unlikely to recover her vision.
She lost her right eye after being shot in the face on 23rd November and her left eye was also injured. After being examined by Dr. Rebecca A Shelds, she was advised to have esthetic work carried out on her face and a prosthesis fitted.
She will remain in hospital for the facial surgery, but another doctor, Salomon Melgen says he will examine her again and explore alternatives.
