Deputy Luisin Jimenez has answered comments made by the United States Embassy in response to his suggestion that the National Police should execute repeat offenders, saying that their country does the same with terrorists. He stated that the US Army (sic) executed Osama bin Laden as well as other Al Qaeda collaborators, and he said that he had not read about any trials. The embassy expressed disapproval of the suggestion made by Jimenez during the appearance of the general staffs of the Armed Forces and the National Police before the Chamber of Deputies Interior and Police Commission last week. Jimenez said that the United States had trained him to take dangerous criminals off the streets, in reference to his years of service in the armed forces. The legislator said that a recidivist criminal who shoots a defenseless woman in the face is a terrorist and deserves to be shot.
