The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has forecast a reasonably dry start to the working week, with only scattered showers in the northeast, southeast, the Central Mountains and along the border. The local weather is being influenced by a high-pressure area over the Atlantic and temperatures are expected to go up this week. However, conditions at sea are said to be abnormal with 9 to 11 foot waves and small craft warnings are in effect.
