The National Police have established the motive behind the death of the couple found shot to death in Jardines del Norte in Santo Domingo on Monday, 17 December. The police have arrested Richard Martin Ventura Jose (Compa), 47, who had been deported from the United States after serving 18 years for drug trafficking. In connection with the case, the police told Hoy reporters that brothers Victor Manuel and Victor Michael Olivo Rosario are now considered to be fugitives from the law. The gang decided to kill the pair because they were allegedly planning to take 10 kilos of cocaine without paying for it, an action known in local parlance as a “tumbe.” The gang of drug traffickers works out of San Francisco de Macoris, and they traveled to Santo Domingo to carry out the killings.
