INDRHI repairs irrigation in Vallejuelo

A few weeks ago, President Danilo Medina visited his birthplace, Vallejuelo in San Juan de la Maguana province. He met with farmers and heard their complaints about the lack of local infrastructure that was preventing them from attaining more successful production. This past weekend, the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) announced the repair of two pumping stations in two irrigation systems as well as cleaning out wells in the area of Vallejuelo. Institute director Olgo Fernandez said that the repairs to the pumping stations and the other work being done in Vallejuelo and other areas of the San Juan Valley were in response to orders from President Medina. He noted that the President had visited the area during one of his unannounced tours of different parts of the country just five weeks ago.
