With practice starting at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday 29 January, the Leones del Escogido have bolstered their roster with the best players available for their participation in the Caribbean World Series to take place in Hermosillo, Mexico. The Leones, who came back from near elimination in the first phase of the tournament to take the crown in a sweep of the Aguilas Cibaenas, will now have a powerful lineup that includes Miguel Tejada, Jordany Valdespin, Ricardo Nanita, Hanley Ramirez and Fernando Tatis. Their pitchers include Edward Valdez, TJ Pena, Fernando Rodney, Lorenzo Barcelo, Dustin Richardson and Francisco Cordero. Unfortunately fine catcher Wilkin Castillo will not be with the Leones for the final phase of the winter baseball season.
