Supreme Court Judge, Francisco Ortega Polanco, has set the date of February 15 to hear the complaint by former President Hipolito Mejia against Senator Wilton Guerrero and the editor of El Caribe newspaper Osvaldo Santana for alleged defamation and slander.
The judge had asked Mejia and Guerrero to come to a meeting and discuss if they could come to an agreement but Mejia did not attend the meeting, and although Guerrero did he said that he did not agree to a reconciliation.
During the last election campaign, senator Wilton Guerrero (PLD) accused Hipolito Mejia of having travelled to Sinaloa, Mexico, with a pilot linked to a Mexican drug trafficker.
