President Danilo Medina made a surprise visit to the Divine Providence Day Care Center in the community of La Victoria in Santo Domingo province, yesterday, Wednesday 6 February.
He also visited San Luis where he swore in the executive committee at the new Community College.
The management of the day care center, which cares for 1,064 children, had written to the President on several occasions, asking for help. The daycare center is run by the Catholic nun Sister Mercedes Jorge, who was not at the center when the President stopped by.
He also visited the Centro de Nutricion Nino Jesus in La Victoria, also run by a Catholic nun, Sister Miguelina Gabin. Sister Gabin asked the government to provide more so they may employ more staff.
