Power Superintendent Julio Cross announced yesterday that consumers of less than 300 kWh per month would not see any rise in their bills for April. Consumers of larger amounts of electricity will pay 3% more on their monthly invoices. This action sets aside the announced 6.5% increase that had been announced and Cross said the government would soon implement a compensation fund to soften any future abrupt rises in power costs.
In other electricity news, the generation across the country was better yesterday and is expected to continue its improvement. Only 16 of the 382 circuits were out of service, intermittently, yesterday.
