Japan donates ambulances

The Embassy of Japan has announced the donation of RD$12.3 million for the purchase of six used ambulances.

The ambulances will be based in La Descubierta, Dajabon, Boca Chica, Guaymate, the National Institute of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Nutrition (INDEN), and the Santo Domingo Senior Home.

Japanese Ambassador Soichi Sato signed the donations on behalf of the Japanese government.

He said that while the amount is not high, the aid goes directly to the community with a positive impact. He commented that the government of Japan has been making contributions to cattle ranching, fishing, public health, education and environment.
