History lovers will enjoy a trip to the Don Diego Wharf in Sans Souci to visit the Galeon de Cadiz, a recreation of a Renaissance-era ship, as used by Christopher Columbus, Magellan and Vasco de Gama in their explorations of the world in the late 1400s and early 1500s. The ship is open to the public and the cost of admission is RD$200 per person. A ceremony celebrating the exhibition was headed by Minister of Foreign Relations Carlos Morales Troncoso, Spanish ambassador Jaime Lacadena, and the directors of the Nao Victoria Foundation and the World Resource Foundation. The visit by this replica of the ships that used to sail the seas 500 years ago is part of the celebrations of the 200th Anniversary of the Cadiz Constitution, known as “La Pepa.”
