The results of the PRSC primaries have been put on hold until a resolution can be found to the dispute that arose from the voting in San Pedro de Macor?s, according to reports in most of today?s papers. Diario Libre newspaper, never one to let a good comparison slip by, equates San Pedro with Florida and the US presidential elections of 2000. Last night the PRSC boss, Rafael Bello Andino, and his top two lieutenants Ramon Rogelio Genao and Johnny Jones met with the candidates to try and resolve the matter. Jacinto Peynado apparently wants a new election, while rival Eduardo Estrella does not. After the meeting, the only thing that was clear was that the pre-candidates would not budge from their positions. Bulletin No. 3, the last official update of the voting results, showed Estrella leading by 1%, at which time 71% of the votes had been tabulated.
