Police identify one of armored car thieves

National Police investigators have identified one of the men who took part in the Thursday 7 March armed robbery of an armored car in Barahona, which supposedly netted the thieves some RD$16.5 million in cash. However, the authorities recovered the truck and three bags containing over RD$2.7 million in cash and checks. The Police named the suspect as Eddy Javier Valentin, the partner of Yahaira Perez de Leon who was arrested after the Daihatsu truck was located in the Las Flores section of Barahona. The authorities said that the truck driver identified Valentin as one of his assailants who tied him and his assistant Felix Antonio Feliz Ferreras up during the robbery.
