Antonio Cabrera, 42, died yesterday, Tuesday 19 March from burns received when his car exploded due to a fault in the propane gas system, in the Nuevo Horizonte area of Santo Domingo West.
Preliminary reports say there was a fire in the gas system and then the vehicle exploded.
His body has been taken to the National Institute of Forensic Pathology for autopsy.
The firemen say that the explosions occur when the systems are inadequately installed.
