Tragedy in El Seibo

A man fired indiscriminately into a group of people in a rural area in the province of El Seibo yesterday, Sunday 24 March, wounding nine people, according to a report from the National Police. Via his Twitter account, Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar confirmed the incident and said that the attack had been against a group of people on horseback. According to the spokesman, Gerald Loren wounded nine people, including his mistress. A five-year old girl was killed. After the attack, the shooter committed suicide by hanging himself in his store, a drinking water distribution business.

The National Police said that the group was returning to the town after a visit to a community near El Seibo when the incident took place. “The homicide weapon has not been recovered by the investigators,” said Baez Aybar.
