The Department of Taxes (DGII) has announced an 18.9% increase in its revenues. It is collecting RD$10.8 billion more for the first quarter, compared to the same period in 2012. The DGII says that revenues for January to March 2013 totalled RD$67.87 billion, up from RD$57.07 billion.
In March alone, tax collections were up 13%, or an additional RD$2.45 billion. Tax revenue in March 2013 was RD$21.14 billion compared to RD$18.69 billion for the first quarter of 2012.
