Commerce with Haiti up

Several of today?s papers are reporting that trade with Haiti has grown over 25% in the first two months of the year. This amounts to a total of US$13.8 million in trade for January and February 2002, up from US$11 million for the same period last year. Danilo del Rosario, the director of the Dominican Center for Promoting Exports (CEDOPEX), said that at these rates, the yearly growth would top 30% over the previous year. Rosario attributed the increased flow of goods between the two neighboring countries to the removal of bureaucratic roadblocks.
