National Salary Committee to meet

At a time when the unions want a 30% increase in the minimum wage for private sector workers and management is offering a little over 9%, the two sectors will be meeting at the Ministry of Labor on Tuesday, 2 May. Management is offering 9.18% based on inflation figures from the Central Bank. The unions are saying that this is not nearly enough for families to buy the basic food basket. During the last round of salary talks management finally agreed to a 17% increase in the minimum wage.
