Most Dominicans watched Baseball Classic

63.7% of Dominicans followed the eight baseball games the Dominican Republic baseball team played in the World Baseball Classic, according to the Gallup-Hoy poll conducted from 11-15 April. The DR won the tournament cup undefeated. 22.4% of those polled admitted to watching every single game. 30.5% said they followed some of the games.

Hoy reports on the hundreds of thousands of Dominicans who were glued to their TV screens to watch the semi-final and final games against the Netherlands and Puerto Rico.

The poll revealed that in the metropolitan area (Greater Santo Domingo) 75.5% of those polled admitted to watching the games.

The same poll revealed that Robinson Cano, of the New York Yankees and who was key to the victory of the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, is the most admired Dominican baseball player.
