The National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) is forecasting an increase in rain, thunderstorms and wind for today, Tuesday 7 May, mostly along the south coast, the northeast and the central mountains, caused by a weather front located over the south east of the country. The forecast says that there will be increasing cloud cover brought on by the prevailing breezes and the approach of the low-pressure trough.
The rains are welcome as the country continues to be affected by drought.
Forecasters say that temperatures and humidity will remain high as the wind is coming from the east-southeast.
